THE PRODUCT

  • Concrete
  • Extruded on site
  • Not individual pieces
  • One continuous piece
  • No reinforcement needed since no weight is placed on curbing
  • Color is added to the mix

THE PROCESS

  • Existing sod is removed with sod cutter-approximately one inch removed
  • Curbing is extruded on top of ground through a small machine approximately the size and weight of a lawn mower
  • Control joints placed to control cracking
  • Sealer is applied to colored curbing after installation

BENEFITS

  • Curbing floats on top of ground which means it is minimally impacted by ground freeze/thaw cycles
  • Will not rot, rust, decompose
  • More economical and durable than traditional lawn edging.
  • Natural appearance to landscaping.
  • 4" height and 6" or 7" width means mulch stays put
  • Durable - once fully cured, difficult to chip or break
  • Flexibility for design configurations
  • Most jobs can be completed in one day
  • Reduces edging and trimming time

CAUTIONS

  • Tree roots that pop up out of the ground are not a friend of the curbing
  • Concrete does crack, but every effort is made to control where the cracks occur by the use of control joints-similar to sidewalks and driveways
  • If the curbing is walked on or driven on prior to it being cured, damage may occur -- seeĀ Care & Maintenance for details
